From Paris with love

the legs of long
lost goddesses
secret scents
fill the temple
of poems
with the fragrance
of love

in the city
of Troy
stolen beauty
brings destruction
upon us all

Forsaken and lost

"You tremble, carcass? You would tremble
even more if you knew where I am going to
take you!" Vicomte de Turenne

from the tree
of life we
gorge in greed
on the fruit
of knowledge

all the apples
have been made

but hidden
beneath the belly
of the snake
lurk the gods
licking at the lies
they sold us

sedated you squander
passion for fear
while all the time
waiting for someone
to come
and save you

here you are numbed
and nailed
to this cross
of your own making
abandoned by a longing
long since forgotten

here you are…

pretending to pull petals
from roses
with no love
in sight
